(01)Overview
Iron & Nail brings a neighbourhood hardware store online. Customers can browse tools and materials by department, find what a job needs, and order ahead for local pickup.
“Tools, materials and everyday hardware from your neighborhood store in Millbrook. Order online, pick up locally.”
(02)Business context
The brief behind it
Local hardware stores compete on knowledge and convenience. The online experience needed to carry that over: helping people who know the job but not the exact product, and turning browsing into a quick in-store pickup.
(03)Design & development approach
How it was shaped
The design takes on the voice of a working store: heavy uppercase headlines, numbered departments and a 'start with the job' path that organises products around real tasks instead of catalogue codes.
(04)Key features
- 01Eight departments: power tools, hand tools, hardware, plumbing, electrical, paint, garden and safety
- 02Job-based shopping paths, from weekend DIY and home repair to workshop setup
- 03Order online, prepared in store, collected locally
- 04Counter deals and trade favourites
- 05Product listings across tools, fixings and accessories
